In The Beginning...

We began the project on 18 November 2007. The plan is to design a flexible CMS using Ruby on Rails with a powerful central core.

Since there is no need to “reinvent the wheel” we will be leveraging the best that various other open source projects have to offer and incorporating them into Wormhole where it makes the most sense.

Although we began by wanting to develop our own core, we decided to speed up the development process by going with a core that has already proven itself successful. The core we are using is Radiant CMS. So technically, Wormhole CMS is starting out as Radiant CMS and moving forward from where they currently are.

In fact, Wormhole CMS may remain a Radiant CMS powered project with us merely contributing additional extensions, patches, and help to the folks over at Radiant.

Why continue to call it Wormhole CMS? Well, because we already owned the domain and we need a spot to play. So, this is it!

There is still a lot to do, and so far Tsykoduk is our sole programmer. While I am desperately trying to get spun-up on Ruby on Rails, it might be a while before I can contribute any reasonable code to the project.

Those with some Ruby on Rails experience, and would like to assist in the development, please let us know. You can contact Mystic at www.handbasket.info and let him know what your interests are.
